Founded in 2012, our program has grown from a small two room facility to a multi-site operation. Rock and Roll Daycare is dedicated to to build a collaborative learning community that celebrates the strengths of all learners and supports the growth of early learning skills. Together with families, we pave the way for a brighter future where children thrive, teachers excel, and early education rocks.
As a result, Rock and Roll Daycare won Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston award for multiple years.
My Vietnamese name is Tố Quyên and I go by TQ. As a first-time parent living in Los Angeles back in 2017, I found myself struggling to navigate the complexities of parenthood. My infant son attended a local daycare, where his patient and dedicated teachers worked tirelessly to teach him how to drink from a bottle. I was struck by their unwavering commitment to providing the best possible care for my child; those teachers inspired me to pursue a career in early education.
Fast forward to February of 2020, and I officially joined the early education field. As a new small business owner, I faced the pandemonium of the pandemic years head-on. My diverse background in areas such as finance, IT consultancy, and scouting, combined with my MBA from Boston College and my passion for slow travel and exploring different cultures, has led me to a clear mission in this field. I want to create a well-rounded program that fosters a love of learning in our young students through music, cultural and child-led education. My ultimate goal is to prepare these young learners for a lifetime of discovery and growth.
My ambitions extend beyond my individual business. As a CEO, I am determined to be a force for positive change in the industry. I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that all educators and administrators in the early education field are respected, valued, and recognized for their vital contributions to our communities. I believe that by fostering professional development, career growth and financial success for everyone involved in this field, we can create a more compassionate, equitable, and effective early education system.
Hello Everyone. My name is Brenda Ramsey. I was born and raised in Boston, MA, but spent a healthy chunk of my childhood in North Carolina. I am a mom of two beautiful girls. My oldest, Nisariah, will be 13 in a few short weeks (pause for reaction), and my youngest, Emersyn, is 9.
I have been in education for the past 15 years, with more than half of that being early childhood. I started at Little Sprouts, where I started as an assistant teacher and worked up to Director 2 certification. After leaving Little Sprouts, I went to teach in Boston public schools as a paraprofessional and long-term substitute. During my last two years with Boston public schools, I became the school secretary and took over as the director of the before and after-school programs.
The one thing I value the most about my time in education is building relationships with students, families, and my team. Whether we connect through shared interests, experiences, differences, understanding, or collaboration, my ultimate goal when working with families and educators is to build relationships with people. This is how I learn about them and get to know them and vice versa, and it is extremely meaningful to me.
I have been with Rock & Roll since January of 2024 and what I love the most about my role here is the ability to mentor and coach our directors and see that mentoring and coaching be passed down to our teachers.
On a more personal note, here are some fun facts about me: I am such a foodie, I love to cook, and during the summer, you can catch me on the grill at least 3-4 times a week. I have a passion for crafts and crafting; in 2019, I started a small business called Blissful Creation ByB.

I love to read; my all-time favorite book is An American Marriage by Tayari Jones. Music is my happy place, and I am always adding new artists to my playlist.

I first joined Rock and Roll Daycare in 2012 as a Music Specialist and was offered Music Director position in 2021. Love, patience, kindness, and perseverance – these are the words I live by as a musician and an educator. Working with young children has been a great joy. They are creative, curious, imaginative, and musical. Teaching the music classes and seeing the children grow and progress, remind me how music naturally connects people, and how important music education is to young students. I believe that through quality music classes and enrichment, music will carry on a long way in students’ lives.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Education and Viola Performance from Taipei Municipal University of Education in Taiwan, and graduate degrees from Boston Conservatory and Boston University. As a violist, I have toured extensively throughout the US and abroad, and I regularly perform as a soloist, chamber music and orchestra musician. Outside of music, I enjoy hiking and exploring new trails.
