  • EEC Teacher Licensure in Infant/Toddler and/or Pre-school.

Music Specialist

Rock and Roll Daycare seeks dynamic, patient, and fun-loving part time early childhood music specialists to teach students ages 0-5 at our centers in Cambridge, MA.

At RRDC, we offer daily live music classes to our students, and music specialists are encouraged to use movement, dance, finger plays, instruments, props, listening games, stories and singalongs to teach musical concepts and support music education.

Music specialists will receive training on curriculum writing, staff support for personal teaching development and an annual professional development session.

Individuals with background in arts (music, theater, dance), prior teaching experience, and an understanding of early childhood music pedagogies are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of the Program Specialist:

This position is an existing multi-faceted role which involves multiple responsibilities within curricular planning and implementation, cleaning and sanitation supervision, teacher support and engagement, and administrative assistance of Center Director.

Daily Teacher Nurturing

  • Provide regular support and guidance to nannies within their center
  • Plan monthly events/outings for their center
  • Help create a community that driven by company values
  •  

Weekly Curriculum Tasks

  • Completion of Observation Forms
  • Participation in center weekly team meetings
  • Ongoing training (weekly group calls and monthly one-on-one with Barbara)
  • Assistance with curriculum/cultural material inventory distribution
  • Check in and supervision of onboarding during new hire orientation (initial 5-weeks)

 

Monthly Curriculum Tasks

  • Confirm curriculums are posted on parent boards
  • Confirm curriculums match works on shelves
  • Check curriculum binders
  • Review and approve submitted Original Lesson Plans
  • Review Work rotation outlines (if applicable)
  • Make sure all lesson plans have been turned in by the 15th of every month
  • Confirm correct materials are on ordering forms & approved
  • Snack/lunch assistance

 

Qualifications of the Program Specialist

  • Available for a daily 830am-530pm schedule
  • EEC Teacher Licensure in Infant/Toddler and/or Pre-school.
  • Bachelors/Masters Degree in Early Childhood or a related field
  • Technology Skills (e.g. email)
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (willing to obtain)
